Discover the beauty and history of West Gothland with me!
Situated between the two large lakes Vänern and Vättern, West Gothland – or Västergötland as it is known to the locals – dwells on thousands of years of history and over 16 000 km2 of breath taking nature. Considered by many to be the cradle of Sweden, the province offers an abundance of historical sites such as castles, ruins, ancient burial mounds and rune stones. However, today it can also provide visitors with a picturesque countryside, beautiful hiking trails and, not least, cozy small towns with well preserved city centers from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Västgötaresan offers guided tours and excursions in and to a multitude of sites in the area. These guidings can all be provided in English, and be customized according to your requests.
